My Trip 11/13/2010
New Orleans was everything that I had hoped for. First the city itself was such a mixture of contrasts. From the anything goes atmosphere on Bourbon Street to the beauty of watching a small child dance in front of a jazz quartet on Royal Street I was always astonished. A friend told me that there is a sadness to New Orleans and he was right...but there is also an energy that wrapped itself around me. And I think that energy is what makes people visit New Orleans and rebuild after the devastation of Katrina. The people I met there were gracious and very quick to tell you of the city and it's customs. Secondly, my trip was a dream come true for me because i got to meet some authors that I adore...Jeaniene Frost and Karen Essex and the great Dacre Stoker. At first I felt nervous standing up with all of those great authors but I soon found out that not only are the citizens of New Orleans gracious but so too are these three authors. Though I may be published by a small publisher not once did they make me feel small. And I would be remiss if I didn't take a minute to talk about my friend Teresa. She was the reason I got to experience my dream. Never have I met a more loving and caring person than Teresa. She welcomed us by letting us tag along on tours and excursions with her friends Becca and Ride who also were very kind to us NOLA newbies! So THANK YOU Teresa! You are an Angel who will always be in my heart! Love and Peace Always, Jude PS....take a look at our photos from NOLA Add Comment New Orleans 10/24/2010
Sorry I haven't posted here in awhile. Sometimes life gets a little crazy. I'm getting excited to go to New Orleans this week. I will be going to the Mennoch ball as a dark angel. I just hope that I don't make a fool out of myself in front of some of my favorite authors! I'm looking forward to meeting some friends that I've made online and going to some landmark placed recommened by friends like Pat O'Brians, the Acme Oyster House and Cafe Monde. I will be posting some pictures here when I get back. Now, an update of Leed's story. It's going really well and I hope to have it published before the end of the year. I know this one is taking long and I apologize for the delay. But I promise you that it will be worth the wait. As an apology for taking so long to finish, I'm posting an excerpt for you all! Love and Peace, Jude Vampire Ball 08/15/2010
I am going to my first ever Vampire Ball in New Orleans in October! The kind ladies of Ann Rice's Vampire Lestat Fan Club invited me. One of the guests of honor is Dacre Stoker! Author of Dracula: The Un-Dead and great-grandnephew of Bram Stoker. I am so psyched! If he wasn't married I would marry this guy! lol Bram Stoker is the man! No one can compare to his vampire genious. His great-grandnephew doesn't disappoint either. If you haven't read his book, DO IT! Love and Peace, Jude It's Hot! 08/07/2010
Yeah, it's August already and hotter than hell outside! What do they call these the dog days of Summer? I've been trying to stay cool by doing indoor activities....and yes that means working on Leeds' story but I've also been busy over at Solstice After Dark. We've gotten a few new authors over there that you should check out. Kate Richards just released a very steamy Novella titled Confessions from the Carnivore Club that delves into the world of BDSM. Very Hot! Speaking of which, I took an online class on writing BDSM. Yep that's right BDSM. It was very interesting and gave insight into the mindset of kinky, fetsih and bondage lifestyles. I am always looking to be a better writer and this course was a big help. I'm also running a contest this month for a chance to win e-book copies of all of my titles including my newest Vampire Delights on Polar Nights. I hope all my friends are staying cool inside with a steamy book! Love and Peace Always, Jude It's July! 07/03/2010
I don't know where the time goes?! It's July already and I'm still not sure where June went. Be assured I am writing. I'm also managing Solstice after Dark Erotica line. I've always written as the mood strikes me. I'm not very structured...lol Thus I've started a contemporary erotica story that came to me. I will of course continue on my Evolved stories. Plus Vampire Delights on Polar Nights is due out any day now! I'm really excited for this one! I adore this story because the women in it are all real! They are the greatest bunch of smutty women! Without them I'd be without half my readers...they work hard pimping me out! You can find them over on the Goodreads group Recommendations for Hot and Steamy PNR series. These guys give me my inspiration! Summer Solstice 06/20/2010
Tomorrow is the first day of summer and the Summer Solstice. The dictionary describes solstice as a turning point. How true that is. Solstice Publishing has created an imprint line for all of their erotica and it's called Solstice After Dark. I've been asked to be director for this new line. I thought long and hard about the extra work it would require and decided to give it a shot. I care a lot about Solstice and the people who work there. I hope I can do a good job. I want to make it a success. So please stop by and check us out! www.solsticeafterdark.com Love and Peace, Jude Writing 06/06/2010
Wow...I can't believe how long it's been since I posted here. I admit that my writing has taken a back seat while I was taking care of my Mom but time sure does fly by in the blink of an eye! My Mom is on the road to recovery and her prognosis looks good. Thank God! So now I'm trying to get myself back in the saddle so to speak. I'm awaiting the release of Vampire Delights on Polar Nights. This book though not in the Evolved series, is dear to my heart since all of the leading ladies are known to me from the infamous Amazon thread "Recommendations for Hot and Steamy Paranormals" When they challenged me to write them a book I never imagined it would turn into this crazy story! lol Also, Scent of a Vampire with it's hot new cover is now available at my publisher's website http://solsticepublishing.com/index.php for 12.95 If anyone wants to purchase Scent, I encourage them to buy it from Solstice because when it hits Amazon they raise the price substantially! Now for the good news, Leeds' story is coming along nicely. I'm hoping with things quieting down that I have it finished before my vacation in July. I do promise that it will well be worth the wait! Thanks for being patient while life's little bumps took precedence...you are the best! Love and Peace always, Jude New Beginnings 04/24/2010
Hi everyone, Let me start off by saying that I apologize for being gone for so long. As everyone does in their life, I was going through a bit of a rough spot. But I am back and oh so happy to be here. You've probably already noticed that my site changed, my publisher changed and my covers changed. Some people have a hard time with change but not me. I embrace change and actually once had my vedic chart done and it seems that I have a lot of planets in my eighth house which is significant for change in your life. So I'll blame it on Venus or Mars....lol Let me tell you what's been happening in the world with regards to my writing. I've signed on with a new publisher, Solstice. They will be re-releasing Scent of a Vampire and Touch of a Vampire along with any new books in the series. As an added bonus to people who've read and enjoyed my books I'll be releasing a short story that will only be available at Solstice. The good news is that it will be free! The title of the book is Motel Desire. I've also written a novella titled Vampire Delights on Polar Nights. I've been submitting it to different publishers and hope to hear something soon. It's a fun and very sexy story of eight women and eight vampires hooking up. I promise to keep everyone updated and let you know when my books are available once again. In the meantime, thank you so much for sticking by me, you're the best! Love and Peace, Jude Changes 03/17/2010
I wanted to let everyone know that due to unfortuanate circumstances, my books won't be available for a while. My publisher has closed and my dear Evolved series has no home. I hope that I will be back soon with a new publisher and a new book! Things always happen for a reason so I'm not looking at this as a sad event, I'm looking at it as a chance for new and exciting things to happen. I may change the look of this website while I'm not promoting. I may also try to publish a novella that I've written. It's quite an unusual little story. Of course it's about vampires, but it involves 8 different vampires and 8 different women. Yeah, I know that's pretty sick...lol I will be sure to keep you all updated on any new developments. Love and Peace, Jude Touch of a Vampire now in paperback! 02/11/2010
Good news for everyone waiting for Touch to be released in paperback. It is now available on Amazon. Special thanks to all who voted for my first book Scent of a Vampire on the Editors and Preditors Reader's Poll. I was happy and delighted that my book came in 4th! Not bad for a rookie writer. I have a Valentine contest going on at Romance Junkies. Enter to win a copies of Scent of a Vampire and Touch of a Vampire plus a Barry White CD. Check it out at: http://www.romancejunkies.com/rjvalentinescontest/JudeStephens.html We've been hit with lots of snow in eastern Pennsylvania.
